Angela has been working as a Physiotherapist for 10 + years. She lives and works in Pemberton and completed her training at the University of Alberta where she received her Master’s of Science in Physiotherapy. She previously obtained a degree in Kinesiology from the University of Calgary. Angela has worked in private practice since graduating from Physiotherapy school, and has had her own individual practice for 5 years, called Angela Simpson Physiotherapy.
Having grown up in the small ski town of Rossland BC she started skiing from a very young age. She ski raced for a number of years as a teenager and has also enjoyed other sports including fieldhockey, where she played at the varsity level in University. She tore two ACL’s with these sports, and underwent extensive rehab for both of them. She now enjoys helping others rehabilitate their own knee injuries.
Angela also has a keen interest in working with shoulder injuries. She finds the complexity of the types of injuries that can happen at this joint very interesting, and enjoys problem solving to discover the best form of treatment for this area of the body.
Pelvic Floor Physiotherapy is a specialty Angela has, and she has a particular interest in working with the peri-natal population (although she works with other pelvic floor clients and conditions as well). Pemberton and Whistler are very under serviced area for this type of physiotherapy, and Angela hopes to educate these communities about the benefits of Pelvic Floor Physiotherapy. There will be talks and classes coming soon regarding pelvic floor health as well, check back frequently on the website to see when and where!
Outside of her work life, Angela has a husband, a 5 year old daughter and a 3 year old son, and a new puppy named Timber! She enjoys all of the recreation the Sea to Sky Corridor has to offer, and can often be found, skiing, and mountain biking or hiking with her dog. Angela enjoys treating a very wide array of clients from high level athletes, to recreational athletes, pregnant and post partum women, and people that are managing both acute and chronic pain. She enjoys the variety of clients in the Whistler/ Pemberton area, and looks forward to the continuing care/ rehab. of clients in this area!
